Yes. XTC Primer is 100% UV stable and can be left as the finish coat on its own. You do not have to topcoat it with XTC color; whether you do is purely a color choice.
When to Leave It Bare
Many customers leave XTC Primer as the finish on headers, furnace exteriors and other high heat parts for its matte grey factory look. It is silicone zinc rich, protects the steel the way galvanizing does, and holds up outdoors on its own. Apply 1 to 2 thin coats, wait at least 8 hours, and heat cure as the XTC directions describe.
When to Add XTC Color
Topcoat with XTC when you want one of its 10 colors or Clear, such as Jet Black, Rocket Red or Flame Blue. Primer and color cure together, so there is no need to heat cure between them. Request a free color sample to see a color first.
