Works well.

The process is straightforward….but watch video and follow instructions. I would rate it a 5star but only gave 4star because I had to destroy the lid of the paint tin to get it off. I used the recommended lid opener but lid is so deep the opener won’t lift it high enough to get it off. Once you get lid off (you’ll be frustrated by now) remember to properly stir paint. This is important. Paint dries to a nice smooth, level finish. Apart from getting lid off paint tin, I’m happy with the results. I’d buy it again and recommend it.

Very reliable

I saw your product while doing a giggle(lol) search for my rebuild/restoration. Your product line checks off all my boxes. Easy to use, comes with instructions and support if necessary. Has everything I need to complete my project without causing too much of a stir from the CFO(the wife). I know the competition is intense but it's a great fit. No pics to post. I needed a good cleaner and I choose the KBS system. I haven't primed/sealed/base coated/inter-coat cleared or cleared as of yet.

Trial kit

I ordered the trial kit to coat the front suspension/steering components of my 1994 Cadillac Concours. As a car used in the North East winter (salt!) it had some significant surface rust in these areas. I used a needle scaler, die grinder, and angle grinder to remove as much of the rust as possible, cleaned with the provided solution, used the rust converter per the instructions, and applied two coats of the Rust Coat. The results were very impressive. The suspension/steering parts look like new with the smooth gloss black finish, The only issue that I had with the kit was that the rust converter solution quantity was not sufficient to do the job on the first side. Fortunately I had some of a similar product from a different supplier and was able to keep the parts wet during the conversion process. I ordered extra rust converter with the next kit that I ordered (for the other side). I'm not confident that one of the kits will cover 12 square feet as advertised. I used the products as carefully as possible (getting a 2 mil paint coat with a brush is very difficult) but used a full kit + for each side of the front end suspension and steering parts. I will definitely purchase these KBS products when needed in the future. Each product performed admirably. The finish is beautiful, extremely hard, and should last the life of the car.

Does the trick

If you read my review of a year or two ago you know I'm a convert to RustSeal. This time I bought the whole Cleaner-Prep-Seal Kit for two jobs -- the interior hex nut on a garbage disposal (a re-application, as I carelessly poured acetone down the sink and kind of fouled up the original job) and priming and painting a rusted section of a door. Problems solved. Wait for dry-ish weather, wear rubber gloves, follow directions, take your time, hard to go wrong.

mower deck overhaul

2 different batches of paint. 1 very thick (old) and one very thin (new). The old paint was used up very quickly and was disappointed that it didn't do the whole deck, it barely covered one side. Ordered new bach and now have left over paint as it covered thinly, even tho I had to add extra coats to get the correct mils. Very frustrating product. Hope it holds up as well as you advertise.

Great dealer, great service..

I bought the rust sealer to put on the bottom of my 48" lawnmower deck to save it from rusting out from the abuse it takes, and also hoping it would increase the output flow going to the bagger. I had made a leaf catcher to replace the bagger because with all te leaves I have, emptying the bags every 10' as the bags would fill up that fast wasn't an option. So I used the sealer for two reasons and it worked great. I had plenty to put it on good and thick. I called on a Saturday when I was mixing the contents up and I had a question about the mixture and I got a call back in a half hour which I appreciated as I wanted to get this done. So it's done and the leaf catcher works fine. Plenty of air flow coming out of the deck and into my leaf catcher, plus my deck is sealed. It will probably last longer than the rest of the lawnmower.

GREAT KIT

This is a really great kit. I purchased it to clean, prep and prime two rims on my 1941 Indian 741. Plenty of paint to do not only my rims but the hubs and a old seat pan! I would add pictures but am not that 'techno' savvy. I like that the prime is available in numerous colors so you see the contrast when top coating. Would buy again.

KBS....a good choice

Prep was a bit drawn out, but final program quality depends on prep work. I would STRONGLY suggest heavy (7 mil at least) gloves for both the prep work and FOR SURE the application of the sealer. It's been about 3 weeks since the process and so far (cutting side of lawn tractor/mower deck) are fine......no large pieces of rusted material on the lawn after mowing. Sorry, no pictures, either before or after. I'd recommend the KBS system. Customer service alone is worth it. And the cost, DIRECTLY purchased from KBS was more than fair.

Brush Marks Flow Nicely

I prepped and brushed the rustseal on a section of my frame that was rusting. Completely amazed at how easy the system was and how well the brush marks flowed out. Looks like I sprayed it. Now I want to do the whole frame!

Not as I expected

I’ve used KBS Motor Coater with great results so I thought I’d give Rust Seal a try on a portion of my frame. I prepped following the included instructions, using the proper chemicals included in the kit. The resulting finish was neither Satin Finish nor smooth. The dry coating is quite shiny, and brush marks were quite evident. The portion of frame is covered by the fan shroud, so I left it. Don’t know if I will use this on the remainder of my visible frame.

Awesome.

Far from professional but even I couldn’t mess this stuff up. Used it to coat some new metal rock sliders and supports on my Jeep... applied it in too cold of weather over a combo of steel and seam sealer, and let it sit over night in below freezing temps. Still cured rock hard by morning. Leveled itself out great (luckily helping to bury some of my metal working goof ups) Highly recommend

Treated and Sealed...Permanently

Excellent product for taking care of one of Flaws I. Dodge’s design of their older pickups. Was able to treat and remove the surface rust from the quarter panels, and seal them permanently before installing the fender flares. Came out as expected. Very satisfied.

Rust stopped!

I was a prior KBS customer, buying their clearcoat. I lived their website and great customer service, so I knew to come back to them for rust relief. I did the small sample pack to tackle two small rust spots on my car (rocker and quester panel spot). I thought after doing the black gloss Rustseal with a brush, it would stick out like a sore thumb. However, it self-leveled enough where I don't really notice it! It's still there if you look, but a glaring blemish that I need to address right now. I absolutely love the customer service I have received over the years from KBS and will be a customer for life!

Mailbox

The KBS products were great for me, I had to repair a Sears, Roebuck and Co., manufactured in 1973, original metal mailbox on my home. It was old and rusty, but worth the repair effort, they don't make them like that anymore. Followed the instruction, no problems.

KBS

I have used the KBS rustseal system for the last 4 years, I have success treating and sealing rust, from small pits to thicker rust I can’t reach mechanically. No problems whatsoever with epoxy primer going over it. It’s tough stuff, and it’s all I use in my restoration projects.

KBS is the best!

Used kbs on frame, control arms, spindles, drive shaft, rear axel and many other parts for this 1980 z28 Camaro frame off resto build. Cant go wrong if you follow their directions you will get a durable, professional looking finish! I have recommended kbs to many friends.

Amazon Product on Suspension Parts

I want to tell you how much I enjoyed using your product to coat the suspension parts for a car I'm restoring. I followed the instructions and was surprised how simple the product was to use plus the gloss black finish makes the 60 year old parts look better than new. Good product!!!

Perfect in Every Way!

I followed the System Sampler YouTube video for fixing the pinchwelds on my truck doors and tailgate. Make sure you prep!! Product(s) work as advertised. Although it's only been about a month and a half since I've used them, they are sealed, no rust has shown through, and look exactly as they did the day I finished the job. I topcoated it with Diamond Clear, then finished it with Cavity Coater. Just follow the video, and you won't be disappointed.

Great product

This kit is great for the notorious rust problems on Mazda 3s. Seems very thin when applying but when it dries it has a slick coating that protects very well. Def. Recommended kit.

Great product

I have used a lot of chassis coatings and rust products. This stuff coats very well and turns hard as steel when it drys. I had to grind through some of it to do a little welding and found that out.
