Rusted Dozer Tank

JD 650K DOZER bought used. Tank had been left open to the elements. I cut an access hole 24 x 6. The tank had 3 baffles that divided the tank into 4 compartments. After much vacuuming and pressure washing the debris was removed exposing rust throughout. The KDS process involved a decreased wash that prepped for 2nd step of etching the metal. These two steps easy enough by spraying. Again access allowing vacuuming and warm air drying. The application of sealer was done with an air sprayer and was thin enough to apply very well. Even the outside compartments were accessed through holes in the baffles and fog of the spray coated the entire tank. There was some runs due to overstaying but that will not be a big concern. Reinstalling the plate that was removed and weld it back was simple enough. Compared to removal and buying a new tank the cost was minimal. I am very pleased to find such a product as offered by KDS. The dozer is a farm machine. I would have no reservation to resale the machine and I believe the fact that the rusted tank problem is resolved and would be a value added factor. I am very pleased with this product and how it has helped me to fix a seriously expensive problem. Thanks KDS!!!

Saved my Honda tank

This is my second use of your products and another great finish. This saved the factory metal tank on my 1985 Honda 250sx. The instructions are easy follow and the results are great. The only problem is nowhere does it say how much to use on what size tank. My tank is 2.5 gallons and I used about 3/4 of sealer which is almost double what I needed. I would recommend this to everyone.

Excellent, BUT…

This product is fantastic. Like seriously. HOWEVER, the instructions need tweaked if you have a weird gas tank like I had. I was using this in an Isuzu Trooper tank with a really tall baffle to house the fuel pump in. In my case, I should have used half the can, and after draining, rolled the tank every 30 minutes for like 6 hours straight. That odd baffle collected so much finish I had to add like 4 days dry time on and had runs, pooling, and bubbles. But everything eventually dried hard and I working well. Either way, highly recommend. Customer service is amazingly responsive. A++++

kbs saved my old harley tanks

the kbs 3 step tank sealer kit worked perfect in fixing small pinholes on my 1972 harley tanks,first use there stripper to remove the old coating and pay attention to the directions and it works great.thanks again i will use this every time i need to seal a vintage tank.DONZO

Great Stuff

Ok so I tried a couple of different home made interweb recipes to remove the rust a none of them worked! Bought the KBS tank kit, followed the directions and it worked perfectly. The Rust Blast really worked! You get plenty of tank seal in the kit to seal a VW tank. I would highly recommend this kit to anyone needing to restore their fuel tank. It’s not rocket science, just follow the directions and it will come out as advertised.

This is an excellent product! If you are an impatient person let someone else do this job for you. If you go slow, take your time, and follow the instructions you will wind up with an excellent de-rusted and sealed fuel tank. I could not have asked for a better final result. Thanks KBS!!!

Gas tank saver

This is the second time I’ve used this product to clean and seal a motorcycle gas tank. Could not be happier with the results. Planning on doing another soon. Great to have products like this to help keep these old bikes on the road, shiny side up.

Speedster Tank

I have a fully restored Morton & Britt Speedster (Model A Ford Chassis) and the fuel tank developed a leak in the driver's side solder joint where the end cap meets the main body. Tried to resolder and tried plastic puddy neither worked for long. Used your products and the leaks have stopped. Even though these old tanks were not airtight, I've pressurized it to about 30 psi and there are no leaks now.

It Works

I used the entire kit on two Honda ATV gas tanks. I followed the instructions, even went further with rinsings. I wanted to be certain that I'd cleared the treatments from the tanks. Because of the structure of the tanks, I did a lot more turnings than what was called for. It takes longer for the sealer to cure than I was led to believe. Be patient. I did have a problem. I assumed that because the sealer is suited from other than metal tanks, that collecting the excess in a plastic cup would be OK. Not So. The excess sealer ate through the plastic cup. It took a quart of acetone to clean up the shop floor.

I have a rare and classic 1976 Harley Davidson FLH Bicentennial Liberty Edition, with original paint and badging, and the left gas tank was rusty and had previously been sealed, likely decades ago. This works great. When I first went to a radiator shop for them to clean my gas tank out and seal it, they wanted $450. So I started doing research and found KBS. I like doing things my self. This stuff is excellent and easy to use. Thanks.

Great kit!

So far so good. Installation was pretty simple. Spend a few days with the wash and cleaning process. Gave the paint a few days to dry and looks like it sealed everything great!

Tank sealer kit

I researched and purchased this kit to use inside of the tank of a water truck. After reading the directions and following the steps with the products provided, I coated the entire inside of the storage tank to a 2200 gallon water tank.It covered well and was easy to apply.In theory it should last.Pleased with the price,info and shipping speed.

Fuel Tank Sealer

The metal fuel tank in my car developed a leak and after determining to seal the tank rather than replace it, I chose to go with this tank sealing system. I can not say enough good things about this system. It was super easy to follow the directions and the results came out looking better than a new tank and a lot more affordable! I've had the tank sealed now since spring of 2023 and it has lasted through a full summer of abuse on the track!

Vintage bike savior

This is the 4th motorcycle I have use this product on. I have been restoring motorcycles for the last 15 years. When working with vintage motorcycles, you quickly learn that rust and corrosion are part of the restoration process. Gas tanks are one of the parts that are at times very difficult to come by so a way of Restoring the one you have to usable condition is invaluable This project a 1971 Yamaha XS 650 Previously had been coded with another product that had failed terribly I was able to remove the inferior product, clean the tank and use the KBS coating system. This product leaves a nice even colored coating on the inside which is extremely durable. The product is also very easy to use drains well, and does not pool like other products do I’m very happy to use this product and looking forward to it in the future

Best product on the market

I used this to seal the gas tank of my 1970 Honda Trail CT90 and there's nothing better for it. In the past I've used this on a 1972 Volkswagen Super Beetle & a 1985 Honda Shadow VT700. This is a simple way to get the job done the best way the first time.

Rupp gas tank

I’m restoring a rupp mini bike and the tank had a couple of pinhole leaks. This stuff works AWESOME! Super simple to use and sealed all the leaks that I had perfectly. Hopefully I did everything correctly and it works long term, but I’m super happy with the end result. Thank you so much for a readily available, great product!
