I didn’t think I could save my KBS Diamond coat. It started to gel. I followed the instruction on how to use the thinner and it worked perfect. Excellent product.

we recently sand blasted some of our water pump stations and recoated with rust seal looks great and is a great product.

Purchased this with top coat to spray my frame. This is great stuff, used with rust seal. Only thinned about 5 percent. Worked great at cleaning my spray equipment.

I needed to replace the trailer fenders on my EZ Loader tandem boat trailer. The replacement components were raw steel and were going to need paint. I did not feel like taking the time to prep, prime and color paint so I looked for a product that could be applied direct to metal and came upon KBS Coatings’ Diamond Finish Clear. I prepared the raw steel by sanding out any surface rust stains then washing with KBS #1 Thinner. I have an HVLP system but I did not have the 1.4 mm tip recommended. I thinned the clear approximately 30% but probably should have gone to a higher ratio due to the tip size. It was my first time using this product so I stayed with the product directions. The clear sprays out nicely and was applied in multiple thin coats also as instructed. Drying time is slower than I would have liked stretching out the paint time for three coats to four hours. I do not have a paint booth and as such, had to paint outside of my garage. The two hour wait between coats was an invitation for all airborne ‘boogers’ to land on my paint job! KBS Diamond Clear is TOUGH! Once cured nothing can remove it. Just what I wanted for these fenders! The can in which the paint is packaged was a killer, however! No way was that cover going back on the can therefore the four star rating. Overall I’m very happy with the look of the product on the steel fenders and it really dresses up the trailer.

I think it is a very good clear coat I use it on fishing lures crankbaits and it works very well and is very durable so far I also like the easiness of it dip it and hang it I usually do 2 coats but I love it no more mixing 2 part epoxy for me and I think its more durable than 2 part epoxies so thanks for a great product and if you have any new products I will be glad to test them for you again thanks

Application: Reduced 10% and HVLP shot at 35psi. 24hr dry. Knocked off any dust nubs with 320grit. 2nd coat laid on a little heavier now that I have a feel for it. After 1st coat your could still see the pits where rust was, after 2nd coat they are gone - Talk about flow out! Used a guide coat and sanded to verify everything is filled, no sign of the pits at all. Then a 3rd double wet coat reduced a bit more for a smooth finish. Really did not need the 3rd coat for filling, could have left it at 2 coats and skipped the guide coat. Heck I was expecting to use 2K primer surfacer to get it all filled and smooth.

I have been using KBS Coatings for several years now and find them to be superior to other similar products. I especially like the Customer Service and assistance from this company. Being in the painting business for well over 50 years has given me the opportunity to try many products. I like this one especially.

When it come to painting using anything butt a rattle can I was brand new to it. Was my first time praying KBS products and having to thin the paint for use with the Pre-val Sprayer system. You need to use this product as instructed and not how you would normal treat other paints. Of course it is a paint thinner but I'm talking about using KBS paints like rust seal. When thinning for use with the sprayer I found that %25 was just5 about perfect. I am in a warmer climate and it was in the middle of summer so folks else where I would assume may only need about %15. All in all quite happy. Pre-val doesnt make you a star either and I dont think they are just a good as a professional spray gun (even though I've never used one). Didn't seem as if the paint atomized.

I used this for a clear coat for my bass boat.So far ,I am very happy with the results.

Makes KBS coating more workable on multiple coats. Also it will aid in clean up if you get KBS coating on skin or drops on floor etc.

Product is self leveling so leaves no streak marks. Superior Gloss

What can I say about a paint thinner? It really thins KBS paints! It does what it says, and has less oder than others. The can it came in does not have a liquid-tight cap, and so any tipping over, shake, or inversion leads to leaks. I've got other brands of paint thinner, and none of them leak. PLEASE REPLACE THE 8 OZ CAN WITH A TIGHT-SEALING BOTTLE.

Seems to provide durable protection on areas were corrosion and abuse are prevalent. Really worked well on exposed frame rails. My customers have been pleased

Since I use this for thinning Rust Seal it works well. Permits applying Rust Seal as a nice even coat.

The thinner works great, but it does not store well. It needs to be put in a container that will not corrode.

KBS Coatings Reply: The #1 Thinner is sold in a standard Tin Can. If kept indoors and away from moisture, it will not corrode.
