DiamondFinish Clear 1K Aerosol — Direct-to-Metal Clear Coat, No Primer Needed

KBS Clear Diamond Finish is easier to use then mixing a clear coat. I used it to seal a rustic finish on a sculpture. It looks great. It's only been 1 month so can't say anything about the long lasting effect.

As advertised, it requires many more coats to achieve the same level of durability and depth as the canned version but (with patience and strict adherence to the instructions) will deliver roughly the same results: a hard, glossy, crystal clear finish that doesn't become yellow or brittle with outdoor exposure. It also seems to be perfectly compatible with my acrylic paints and thermoluminescent pigments. :-)

I've received my order of your KBS 1K Diamond Clear Coat in an expedient time frame and I was extremely satisfied with the entire process and finished results. As I pointed out in my initial comments, I wish I had discovered your website/store sooner instead of wasting valuable time and money on the poorly replicated version(s) of this product by your competitors. I've been professionally applying primers, paints and clear coat finishes for decades regarding various projects, and I've also used professional air-brush methods as well. I rarely use spray-can applied paints or clear coats, whether water or oil based, due to the uncertainty of the propellant elements and/or liquid base properties of the contents regarding compatibility with existing finishes. But occasionally I'll use spray-can paint products for smaller projects instead of rigging my painting equipment for mixing and applications, and then having to thoroughly clean everything afterwards. Simply following the detailed instructions for applying the product, I was very impressed with the way the KBS 1K Diamond Clear Coat laid down on the initial 1st coat and then with each following coat. My only deviation from the instructions was the method that I used to get into tight corners and on smaller diameter circular items to be coated, without too much loss of product from by-pass spray. I used the spray-can for these tight spots much like I use my air-brush, by shooting short 1-2 second closer-range 'sprits' in selected areas. The finished results were uniform and flawless with each consecutive coat. Note: A painting trick I use with spray-cans is to warm the spray-can to near 85-90 degrees for about 30min before applying, and then apply the product to a 70ish degree surface in low 60% or less humidity inside a controlled environment. The product will then slightly contract/shrink as it dries, which will substantially reduce the chances of runs, wrinkles and/or the 'orange peel' appearance on properly cured pre-painted surfaces.

KBS coatings sets the standard on durable finishes. I use the spray version to protect the paint on my custom baits and it wears like iron. If you want a product made to stand up a in a tough marine environment, this is it. Tough as nails, great gloss and made in the USA!

I recently used KBS DIAMOND Finish (satin) to spray a clear coat onto a 40+ year old vintage steering wheel. The results are a show quality steering wheel.

I'm using this to paint fishing lures, be careful with the first 2 coats as I can wrinkle the paint. Light coats are the key.

Follow directions and the Diamond finish came out perfect. Excellent product!

We have a concrete Bird Bath, that was really hard to keep clean. So, I decided to buy some pool paint and paint it. I was then wanting a Clear Coat to put over it. So, I decided to use Diamond Finish Satin Finish on it. I let the paint dry for several days, and then put two coats of Diamond Finish on it. I let it cure overnight between coats, and then 48 hours before filling with water. It looks great. I just hope it holds up to being under water all the time. My wife decided that the wooden stand that holds the dog's food and water bowls off the floor needed to be refinished. I had her sanding it down to get it ready. I ended up helping with the sanding and when it was ready I cleaned it with a tack cloth and got all the sanding dust off of it. I sprayed one coat, waited about 4 hours, I noticed the finish had raised the grain of the wood so I used a 400 grit sandpaper and sanded it again the reduce the grain and help with the 2nd coat. It looked fabulous, because I knew it would be getting wet (my dog is a sloppy drinker) I decided on a 3rd coat. Then let it cure for two days and put it back in service. This stand never looked this good, not even when it was brand new. The satin finish really looks great just enough shine but not overbearing.

I needed flexible clear to cover this model airplane I built. It’s sealed fabric. So it’s flexible. This stuff in gloss provided an amazing look and was exactly what I needed.

Have used your Aerosol Diamond Clear on alot of my tractor restorations. Lays like glass and is extremely tough. Everyone that asks what paint im using doesnt believe me when i tell them its out of a spray can. Top notch stuff.

I used it to finish wooden fishing lures. The best coating that I have ever used.

Building an experimental aircraft out of T6061 aluminum I wanted a coating to preserve the inner frame and fuselage. Hello Clear Diamond Finish (Satin). I needed something light, thin, DTS (direct to surface) able to long term protect and non reflective for future inspection purposes. Ok this stuff is like aerosolized super glue. It sets in seconds, not minutes. You will need a respirator! You will want to use KBS Kleen to acid wash your parts and the results... AMAZING! The only thing I can say even close to negative is that once the coating is cured it is so hard it does not adhere well with excessive bending / flexing of the material much like most all other paints. As for me if by chance corrosion is to ever appear I will be able to catch it right away because it would be plainly seen thru this coating. If only they had stickers! "THIS IS PROTECTED BY CLEAR DIAMOND FINISH" I have lots of photo evidence of this clear coat as it is required by the FAA on my builders log. Pictures however do not do the "satin clear" justice. Buy a can and experiment with it yourself. Just remember DO NOT spray this on something unless you want it to be there FOREVER!

goes on smooth , doesn't run easy

I just finished a big project on converting my 20 foot track car hauling trailer into an RV complete with Solar/650 amp hour batteries, satellite TV, bunks, kitchen, and bathroom with shower. Sanding and repainting the the exterior was major work. Having used KBS Diamond Clear Coat on previous projects, I sprayed the trailer areas subject to chipping from road grime to provide lasting protection to the my new paint job. I used Rustoleum black metallic paint years ago on the fenders and rear of the trailer. It became badly faded and nasty looking over time. I like the look when first painted so I sanded the black areas and repainted with the same black metallic paint. To protect from sun and chipping, after 24 hours, I put 3 coats of KBS Diamond coat over all the black areas. There were zero problems with the KBS blistering or damaging the Rustoleum paint and it looks great and will provide long-lasting protection. The spray pattern is consistent and you would have to be careless to create runs or sags. Needless to say I highly recommend KBS Diamond Clear Coat.

This is my 1999 sportster xl1200c rattle can paint job with Rust-Oleum and Diamond Clear Airisol check your local humidity levels before clear coating wait Atleast 3 days before u wet sand your base coat if useing spray can I wet sanded cut and polishe after 24hours it looks like glass pictures don't do much justice but see it in person you'll S**T your pants!!!

It’s ease to use, doesn’t run and dries quickly. So far holds up very well. The bench I found, washed it with water and coated it with diamondfinish and it looks great.

Only used it on some sand blasted bolts so far, really like this clear. Smells actually pretty good, low odor, doesn't stink up the place like most paints. Dries quickly and leaves a great finish. Like I said, on bolts so far. I think it will be awesome for brackets and other such parts, the reason I bought it.

First time user of diamond finish clear. I used on steel deck railings with ss cable. Used two coats of brushed on gloss then 2 coats of spray on satin finish over poolished steel, looks great appears tough and is cool in 105 degree heat in Phoenix Az area direst sunlight as an added bonus. If it has the longevity they discussed I will leave this experience as a 5!!

Works as described Covers everything on the chassis and suspension that I wanted to seal with a smooth, sating clear. Very useful

This is a great product. My fishing baits turn out crystal clear with a very durable finish. I really recommend this product.

I custom paint fishing lures. I have always struggled clear coating the ones with hinged bodies. The aerosol fits the bill. The lures turn out beautiful and the hinges stay clean.

I didn’t use the diamond gloss coating yet. It will be used in the spring or early summer, I can’t give a rating now.

We used the satin finish aerosol to coat some antique ceiling tins. Got exactly the finish we wanted.
