How do I clean up tools and equipment after using KBS MAXX Clear?

Clean spray guns, brushes, and uncured overspray with lacquer thinner or MEK (methyl ethyl ketone) immediately after use. Once KBS MAXX Clear has cured, it is highly chemical-resistant and can only be removed mechanically. Work promptly after mixing Parts A and B, as the pot life is limited. Dispose of unused mixed product per your local hazardous waste regulations. Do not store mixed product for later use.

How does KBS MAXX Clear compare to a standard single-stage automotive clear coat?

Standard single-stage (1K) automotive clear coats cure by solvent evaporation and typically achieve HB to H pencil hardness. KBS-MAXX Clear - Like Liquid Powder Coat!

First time using KBS-MAXX Clear Satin...and wow, what a durable hard shell once cured. It's like liquid power coat. Covers very well - sprayed with 1.3 tip HVLP HTE. Mixed 3:1 with ~0.5 thin. Perfect high gloss coat

My son custom paints fishing lures. This is the only product he uses for hard baits. It gives the bait a great high gloss finish. It protects the water-based paint from scratches and enhances the paint...especially when he uses color-shift. The high gloss reflects light so it flashes in the water and helps to attract fish. He highly recommends the Max Clear if you want gloss.

MAXX Satin Finish Steel Patina Table

I ordered a quart and as expected had about 3/4 full can and the hardener in a separate bottle. I had to break up the glob of satin particles on the bottom of the can with a paint stick, then mixed the quart with a drill mixer to get the satin particles to nicely blend in. Then I used the cup they sent to dip out the number of cups (in 3s) I needed into a separate plastic container. Then wiped out the cup and poured in 1 cup hardener to 3 cups ratio. Then wiped out the cup and mixed the 2 part as instructed. I then put mix in a gravity spray gun with 45 psi (depends on gun) and did a test pattern on carboard to make sure I had right air liquid pressure ratio. Then I sprayed the table (immediately cleaned gun with lacquer thinner), let it flash 15 minutes, then made another batch and sprayed another coat. Let dry for several days, Sanded out any orange peal. Made a 3rd batch (why you don't mix it all at once) and sprayed on a heavier coat. I let that dry 3 days and wet sanded 800, 1500, and 2000 (depending on need) any imperfections and rubbed the top out with oscillating buffer and rubbing compound.. End up being super smooth and beautiful. I waited 10 days before putting anything heavy on the table. Yes I would use the product again. Be sure to think out your steps and make spray pattern correct to avoid orange peel. I played with some left over mix and a smooth small roller on another old table and it worked OK but did require wet sanding an rub out.

Best finish for lures

This is hands-down the best finish for fishing Lures Some people like alumi epoxy and it looks great in pics. Upon closer inspection you will see pitting and slight cloud to it. KBS Is the superior finish end of story.

Works on Wood

I applied the Maxx Clear on a wood bench we just purchased and let it sit the hot Texas sun for 2 days. With all the rain we have been getting, water beads off like it does on a freshly waxed car.

Results are Consistent and Controllable

A while back I had posted about the oven hood in the background. The customers were so happy with the results, they had me wrap the whole island front in patina steel with KBS MAXX Clear flat. I love knowing the results are going to be consistent and controllable.

Easy to use, great results
